Panayiotis Papadopoulos is a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and serves as the Byron and Elvira Nishkian Chair in Structural Engineering. He is also the Director of CoE Aerospace Engineering Programs. His research focuses on computational mechanics, solid mechanics, biomechanics, and applied mathematics. Papadopoulos has held various academic positions at UC Berkeley, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, since 2004. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1991, followed by an M.S. in Civil Engineering in 1987 and a Dipl. in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1986.
