Nate Zettna

Dr. Nate Zettna is a Lecturer in Leadership within the School of Work and Organisational Studies and a University of Sydney Business School Emerging Scholar Research Fellow. His research interests include occupational and workplace health and safety, workplace wellbeing and quality of working life, organisational behaviour, human resources management, and leadership. He is also the Country Convenor for Thailand at the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre, where he provides academic guidance and leadership. Additionally, he represents the Business School on the Higher Degree by Research Scholarships Subcommittee and serves as an Associate Head (Research Education) at the Business School, coordinating the Higher Degree by Research program for the School of Work and Organisational Studies.

Nate Zettna's research focuses on organizational behavior, management, teams, leadership, and silence. His work explores how leaders and coworkers shape role clarity and well-being in social care, how teams can overcome silence through humble leadership and commitment, and the impact of leader succession on subordinate silence. He investigates mature worker motives, age-inclusive HR practices, and the effects of care strain on work withdrawal. Zettna also examines job design for age-inclusive workplaces, the role of recognition in carer well-being, and the relationship between service teamwork mechanisms and customer service outcomes. His research emphasizes the importance of inclusive work design, crisis resilience, and intergenerational knowledge exchange in shaping organizational dynamics.
