Alex Veen

Associate Professor Alex Veen is an employment relations scholar and expert on new technology and work, based in the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School. His research focuses on industrial and employee relations, with an emphasis on how digital and algorithmic technologies transform management, work quality, institutions, and regulatory systems. He is an inaugural University of Sydney Business School Emerging Scholar Research Fellow (2025–2026) and has received an ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2021–2025). Alex brings his research expertise into the classroom through innovative, industry-engaged, and experiential learning. He currently serves as Deputy Head of Discipline (Education) and is a Co-Director of the Sydney Employment Relations Research Group (SERRG).
