Meraiah Foley

Meraiah Foley is Associate Professor in the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School. She is Academic Director of Equity Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Sydney Business School and an academic member of the Australian Centre for Gender Equality and Inclusion @ Work. Her research interests include human resources management, industrial and employee relations, sociology of gender, gender studies, marketing, and occupational and workplace health and safety.

Meraiah Foley is an Associate Professor at The University of Sydney Business School, specializing in Gender, Work, and Organizations. Her research explores workplace gender equality, unconscious bias, and the impact of organizational policies on gender equity. Foley's work examines how senior leaders and middle managers frame and implement gender equality initiatives, as well as the challenges faced by women in male-dominated professions. She investigates the role of human resource practices, such as anonymizing job applications, in reducing gender bias. Her research also addresses the intersection of gender, work, and industrial relations, particularly in public services and legal professions.
