Mark Freeman

Dr Mark Freeman is a Senior Lecturer (education-focused) in the discipline of Business Information Systems and the Dalyell Program Director at the University of Sydney Business School. His research interests include understanding the impacts of information systems on human behaviour across different subsections of the population, including children, medical patients, and volunteers, from various perspectives and their broader implications, including cybersecurity phenomena. He has published his work in journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society, Journal of Medical Systems, and Journal of Enterprise Information Management, as well as at several international conferences. His focus on IS education has also been widely published, presented and recognised, as evidenced by his latest work on storytelling and AI chatbots, which received the Best Paper Award at the AIS SIGED International Conference on Information Systems Education and Research in 2024.
