Marian Baird

Professor Marian Baird is affiliated with the University of Sydney Business School (BUS) and holds the title of Professor. Her research interests include organisational planning and management, human resources management, industrial and employee relations, creative arts, media and communication curriculum and pedagogy, policy and administration, workplace wellbeing and quality of working life, workforce planning, employment equity and diversity, gender, policy and administration, leadership, and the sociology of gender. She is a Co-Director of the Sydney Employment Relations Research Group and an Expert Panel Member of the Fair Work Commission. Professor Baird is also a member of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations' Parent Advisory Group. Her work focuses on policy responses at all levels, including government, business, and unions, with a particular emphasis on gender equitable organisational change, flexible work, and paid family and domestic violence leave.
