Lucy Budd

Lucy Budd is Professor at The University of Sydney's Business School. Her research interests include aviation policy and operations, urban logistics, sustainable transport, and aviation. She has published extensively in these areas, with over 100 journal articles and book chapters, and has edited 14 books. She is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Research in Transportation Business and Management (Elsevier) and founding Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Transport and Sustainability (Emerald). She also sits on the Editorial Board of five transport journals and is the founding co-Editor of the Contemporary Issues in Air Transport book series (Elsevier).

Lucy Budd is an Honorary Professor of Sustainable Transport at the Institute for Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS), University of Sydney. Her research focuses on the socio-cultural and policy dimensions of air transport, with an emphasis on pandemic responses, aviation sustainability, and the socio-economic impacts of air travel. She examines how global health crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, influence transport policy and practice. Her work also explores the intersection of air transport with environmental sustainability, gender dynamics, and health security. Budd's research highlights the role of technology, regulation, and public policy in shaping the future of air transport systems.
