Jane Andrew

Professor Jane Andrew is a member of the School of Business at The University of Sydney. Her research focuses on accounting, auditing, and accountability not elsewhere classified. She has published more than fifty refereed journal articles in leading international journals. She is a Chief Investigator on an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant investigating organisational disclosure practices following data breaches. She teaches financial accounting and sustainability-focused postgraduate courses and supervises several PhD students. She is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Sydney Institute of Criminology and the Imprisonment Observatory.

Andrew's work critically examines how neoliberal policies shape environmental and social disclosures, particularly in developing countries. She investigates the role of accounting in reinforcing or resisting neoliberal frameworks, with a focus on carbon disclosures, fair value accounting, and the impact of surveillance capitalism. Her publications also address the ethical implications of AI in research and the challenges of algorithmic accountability in public policy.
