Haoning Xi

Dr Haoning Xi is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies, The University of Sydney Business School. Her research interests include Intelligent mobility, Transportation, logistics and supply chains, and Transport planning. She holds a Ph.D. degree from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of New South Wales (UNSW). Dr Xi has participated in various engineering projects and developed a strong foundation in scientific logic thinking. She was also a co-cultured Ph.D. student in the Optimization and Financial Risk Analysis research group, Data61 at CSIRO. Before her doctoral studies, she received her Master's degree from Tsinghua University and her Bachelor's degree from Central South University, China.

Haoning Xi is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Newcastle, specializing in Transportation, Multimodal Transport, Operational Research, Big Data, and Machine Learning. Their research focuses on optimizing mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) systems through data-driven approaches, including game theory, incentive mechanisms, and deep learning. Key projects involve analyzing travel behavior resilience during pandemics, quantifying the impact of socio-economic factors on travel patterns, and developing models for sustainable electric vehicle operations. Xi also explores traffic flow prediction using spatial-temporal models and differentiable road pricing for environmental benefits. Their work emphasizes the integration of big data and machine learning to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and user experience in transportation systems.
