Farzana Tanima

Dr. Farzana Aman Tanima joined the University of Sydney Business School - Accounting, Governance and Regulation as a Senior Lecturer in February 2025. Previously, she was a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong (2017-2023). She completed her undergraduate honours degree and PhD in December 2015 at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW). Her PhD research focused on the potential of alternative, multidimensional dialogic accounting and accountability practices in empowering poorer-class women. Dr. Tanima maintains active collaborations with NGO practitioners and contributes to the scholarly community through her research, teaching, and governance work, which are inspired by a commitment to social justice and human rights. She has published in leading academic journals and serves on the Critical Perspectives on Accounting Editorial Board.
