Regular biography
Catherine Hardy is an Associate Professor in the Business Information Systems department at The University of Sydney. Her research focuses on governance designs and practices emerging from technological innovations, with an emphasis on socio-technical change, risk, and compliance systems. Hardy's work explores how new information infrastructures shape governance systems and their impacts on policy design and practice. She has examined business analytics, cyber security governance, and Internet of Things (IOT) infrastructures. Her research is collaborative, aiming to enhance organisational understanding of sociotechnical change and its implications for governance. In teaching, she promotes interdisciplinary curriculum design to connect fields and encourage critical learning through real-world applications.
