Gioele Zardini is the Rudge (1948) and Nancy Allen Career Development Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on developing efficient computational tools and algorithmic approaches to formulate and solve complex, interconnected system design and autonomous decision-making problems. He is a principal investigator in the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) and an affiliate faculty member of the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS). Zardini received his doctoral degree in 2024 from ETH Zurich and holds both a BSc. and MSc. in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, Systems, and Control from ETH Zurich. Prior to joining MIT, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University and held visiting positions at nuTonomy Singapore, Stanford, and MIT.
