Elfatih Eltahir

Elfatih Eltahir is the H. M. King Bhumibol Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the impacts of global climate change and regional land use/land cover changes on water availability, extreme weather, and the spread of vector-borne diseases. He develops numerical models such as the MIT Regional Climate Model and the Hydrology, Entomology and Malaria Transmission Simulator to project these impacts at regional scales.
