Regular biography
Richard Loulou is Professor Emeritus, Operations Management, at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. He joined the Faculty of Management in 1970 and served as Associate Dean Academic from 1993. In 1980, he co-founded the Groupe d'Étude et de Recherches en Analyse des Décisions (GÉRAD), which is a joint research centre of McGill, École des Hautes Études Commerciales (Montréal), and École Polytechnique (Montréal). Dr. Loulou has taught courses such as Applied Optimization, Simulation, Stochastic Processes, and Operations Research. His research focuses on the modeling and analysis of energy/environment systems, with an emphasis on the abatement of greenhouse gas emissions.
