Regular biography
Rabindra Kanungo is Professor Emeritus, Organizational Behaviour, at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. He joined McGill's Faculty of Management in 1969 and previously taught at Dalhousie University and several prominent institutions in India, including the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay and the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and Ahmedabad. Dr. Kanungo has taught courses such as Social Psychology Management, Organizational Behaviour, Consumer Behaviour, and Human Resource Management. His research interests include comparative studies of work attitudes, work motivation, and alienation, as well as leadership. His current research projects focus on cross-national studies on work motivation and alienation and the application of leadership research to India and Sri Lanka. He has authored, co-authored, or contributed to over 100 refereed publications, including several books on management and leadership. Dr. Kanungo has also served as an editorial consultant for several prestigious academic journals.
