Lisa Cohen

Lisa Cohen is an Associate Professor in Organizational Behaviour at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management. Her research interests include Human Resource Management, Labour Issues, Labour Market, Managerial Careers, Organization/Job Structure, Organizational Theory, and Recruitment. She is also a Desautels Faculty Fellow. Prior to joining McGill, she was a faculty member at London Business School, Yale School of Management, and the Graduate School of Management, University of California, Irvine. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organization Science. She has received several awards and fellowships, including the Desautels Faculty Fellow designation.

Lisa E. Cohen's research focuses on the dynamics of jobs, careers, and organizational mobility. Her work explores how organizational sex composition influences hiring, promotion, and turnover, as well as the impact of racial composition on voluntary turnover. Cohen also investigates the structural aspects of job design, task bundling, and the evolution of work through the lens of organizational dynamics and institutional factors. Her studies highlight the interplay between individual, task, organizational, and institutional levels in shaping career trajectories and job mobility. Cohen's research contributes to understanding how organizational structures and processes affect workforce composition and career outcomes.
