Regular biography
Joachim Krieger is a Full Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on nonlinear partial differential equations, particularly geometric wave equations, with an emphasis on existence theorems, asymptotic analysis, and the stability of soliton solutions. He is also interested in control and stabilization of solutions. Krieger obtained his Bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1999 and his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2003. He has held academic positions at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, where he was promoted to Full Professor at EPFL in 2014. His teaching includes courses in complex analysis, harmonic analysis, and dynamical systems.
