Regular biography
Tong Zhen is a Faculty member in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include micro and nano manufacturing, biomedical manufacturing, freeform optics machining, meta-surface for imaging and sensoring, embedded metrology technologies, and R&D equipment for ultra-precision manufacturing. He has extensive experience in ultra-precision machining and surface metrology, with a multidisciplinary background spanning physics, machining/process control, and surface measurement. Tong has held various research and leadership roles at prestigious institutions, including the University of Huddersfield and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he currently serves as a Professor in Ultra-Precision Manufacturing and Surface Metrology. His work involves collaboration with international partners and industry leaders to advance ultra-precision manufacturing technologies.
