SHAO Leilai

Dr. Leilai Shao is an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He earned his bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he worked as a data scientist at Facebook and held research internships at Facebook, HP Labs, and Tencent. His research interests include VLSI design for emerging technologies, flexible hybrid electronics, machine learning for EDA, and hardware-software co-design. He has published over 20 papers in top-tier conferences and journals, including Nature Communications and IEEE/ACM DAC, and has received Best Paper Award nominations.

Leilai (Larry) Shao is a researcher specializing in DTCO, Compact Modeling, Process Design Kit, Flexible Hybrid Electronics, and Machine learning. His work focuses on developing advanced materials and technologies for flexible and printed electronics, including biocompatible semiconducting polymers and ultrahigh-purity carbon nanotubes. He also explores design automation and optimization techniques for flexible hybrid electronics, such as robust design and design automation, and leverages machine learning for fast cell library characterization and TCAD modeling. His research contributes to the development of reliable and efficient electronic systems for IoT and biomedical applications.
