DING Ye

DING Ye is a Faculty member in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include Robot Dynamics and Control, Robotic Machining and Manipulation, and Robot Learning. He has led and co-led several research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, focusing on robotic milling, parallel robots, and digital manufacturing. DING has published extensively in top-tier journals such as the International Journal of Robotics Research, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and Nonlinear Dynamics. His work addresses challenges in robotic dynamics, control, and manufacturing processes.

Ye Ding is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specializing in robotics, machine tools, dynamics, machining, and manipulation. His research focuses on milling stability prediction using numerical integration methods, including full-discretization and Runge–Kutta approaches. He also explores stiffness-based optimization for industrial robots in five-axis milling and develops model-based trajectory planning for robotic polishing and milling. His work addresses regenerative chatter, tool runout, and surface location error in machining processes. Additionally, he investigates damping control for nanopositioning stages and contact force modeling for robotic polishing of freeform surfaces. His research integrates dynamics, control theory, and robotics to enhance precision and stability in manufacturing systems.
