Scholar-generated biography

Sneha Prabha Narra is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in additive manufacturing. Her research focuses on the design of additive manufacturing processes, the relationship between process parameters and material properties, and the characterization of materials produced through these processes. She investigates how processing variables influence defect structures, porosity, and microstructural evolution in metals such as Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718. Her work also explores the fabrication limits of thin-wall structures and the use of non-spherical powders in powder bed fusion. Narra's research contributes to the development of process qualification frameworks and high-fidelity thermal simulations for additive manufacturing.
