Dr Louise Elstow
Regular biography
Dr Louise Elstow is an Assistant Teaching Professor (Part-Time) in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge. Her research interests include construction engineering, radiation contamination, climate adaptation, emergency and disaster management, risk and crisis management, and the construction of knowledge. She is a Research Associate in the Engineering Department, working in the Centre for Sustainable Development, and is part of the Life Resystal project, a European Commission-funded initiative focused on infrastructure adaptation in the healthcare sector. Her work explores procurement for adaptation, healthcare adaptation cases, and policy landscapes supporting local adaptation. She also works independently as a disaster and crisis management consultant, collaborating with various sectors to enhance emergency preparedness and response.
