Dr Jim Hambleton

Dr Jim Hambleton is a University Associate Professor in Soil Mechanics & Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Cambridge, Department of Civil Engineering. His research interests include geotechnical and environmental mechanics, plasticity, geomechanics, soil-machine interaction (SMI), and terramechanics. He is also engaged in research related to construction robotics and computerisation/automation in architecture, engineering, and construction. Dr Hambleton has held academic positions at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and Northwestern University, USA. He is a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College.
