Jeffrey Brock

Jeffrey Brock is the William S. Massey Professor of Mathematics and Professor of Statistics & Data Science at Yale University's Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on Hyperbolic Geometry, Low-Dimensional Topology, and Applied Topology. Prior to his current role, he served as Dean of Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science and later as Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science. He previously held leadership roles at Brown University, including chair of the mathematics department and founding deputy director of the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics. Brock earned his undergraduate degree from Yale and his Ph.D. in mathematics from UC Berkeley. He has held postdoctoral positions at Stanford University and the University of Chicago. His work includes foundational research on hyperbolic 3-manifolds and recent explorations into connections between hyperbolic geometry and theoretical physics.
