Marit Rehavi

Marit Rehavi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at The University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on expert decision-making in medicine, criminal law, and employment, particularly the exercise of discretion. She obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar in Health Policy Research at the University of Michigan before joining UBC. Her work includes studies on racial disparity in federal criminal sentencing, the effects of sentencing law changes, and the role of financial incentives in medical decision-making. She is affiliated with the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) as a Fellow.
