Jamie McCasland is an Assistant Professor in the Vancouver School of Economics at The University of British Columbia. Prior to joining UBC, she completed a PhD in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on development economics, particularly labor markets and firms, with current work examining small firm hiring, job training, and network-based technology adoption in low-income countries. She has conducted field experiments in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and Ghana. Her teaching and research are centered on these areas, and she is based in the Iona Building.
