Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Wiese is a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on mathematical optimization, including the theoretical foundations and algorithm development for applications in communication networks, logistics, machine learning, game theory, operations research, optimal control, scheduling, shape, topology, and material optimization. His work explores the structures within optimization problems to design more efficient algorithms. The research groups at TUM in this area include Professors Andreas Schulz, Clemens Thielen, Michael Ulbrich, Boris Vexler, Stefan Weltge, and Andreas Wiese.
