Stefano Caria

Stefano Caria is a Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Economics and Jesus College. His research focuses on improving the efficiency and equity of labour markets in low- and middle-income countries through fieldwork and mixed methods, including experimental and structural approaches. Current interests include the equilibrium effects of search frictions, job-loss risk and insurance, mental models of competition in firm decisions, and the intersection of labour market policy and climate change. He is associate editor at Econometrica, co-chair of the labour sector at J-PAL, and lead academic for the Ethiopia program of the International Growth Centre.
