Regular biography
Christopher Bowdler is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford, Department of Economics. He is a Fellow of Oriel College and Director of Studies in Economics. His research focuses on applied macroeconomics, including the identification of monetary policy shocks, open economy models, and the effects of international differences in labour market institutions. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomic theory and policy, and supervises graduate research. Bowdler has served on the editorial boards of the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics and the Oxford Review of Economic Policy, and was Secretary to the Board of the Review of Economic Studies from 2012 to 2017. He has also worked as a research consultant to the European Central Bank and on projects for private sector organizations.
