Stéphane Boissinot is a Professor of Biology at New York University Abu Dhabi. He holds the title of Global Network Professor of Biology and is affiliated with the Department of Biology. His research focuses on evolutionary biology, with particular emphasis on evolutionary genomics. Boissinot's work explores topics such as the evolution of genome size and structure, innate resistance to viral infection, and the biogeography of East African vertebrates. He earned his PhD from the University of Montpellier (France) and has held post-doctoral positions at the University of Texas and the National Institutes of Health. Prior to joining NYU Abu Dhabi in 2015, he was a Professor of Biology at Queens College, the City University of New York, from 2003 to 2014.
