Dan Ohtan Wang is a Professor of Biology at New York University Abu Dhabi, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds the title of Global Network Professor of Biology. Her research interests include synaptic organization, RNA biology, and post-transcriptional regulation. Dr. Wang's work explores how gene expression in neurons is influenced by the environment and experience, with a focus on RNA trafficking and epitranscriptomic regulation. She completed a BA in Bioengineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology and a PhD in Neurosciences at the University of Southern California. Her lab has pioneered RNA live-imaging techniques and reported the first draft of synaptically localized messenger RNAs with N6-methyl-adenosine modifications. She is establishing a neuroepitrancriptomics lab at NYUAD to study RNA modifications' role in behavioral adaptation.
