Regular biography
Ted Sargent is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University. His research focuses on materials chemistry and the physical chemistry of materials and surfaces, with an emphasis on CO2 recycling, high-efficiency solar cells, and advanced photodetectors. He utilizes computational materials science, AI/ML, and synthesis techniques to develop innovative solutions for energy and environmental challenges. Sargent is affiliated with the Paula M. Trienens Institute for Sustainability and Energy and holds the Lynn Hopton Davis and Greg Davis Professorship. His work includes significant contributions to quantum dot photodetectors, perovskite solar cells, and CO2 electroreduction technologies.
