Brian M. Hoffman is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University. His research focuses on the catalytic mechanisms of metalloenzymes, utilizing electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectroscopy to study active site composition and electronic structures. His work spans various metalloenzymes, including nitrogenase, cytochrome c oxidase, and hydrogenases. Hoffman is affiliated with the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute (CLP) and the Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences Graduate Program (IBiS). He is also a Professor of Molecular Biosciences. His research has contributed significantly to understanding key intermediates in enzymatic reactions.
