Christian Malapit is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University. He earned his B.S. from Far Eastern University, Philippines, in 2005, followed by an M.S. from Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, in 2009. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Connecticut in 2016 and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan in 2019. Malapit was also an NIH Pathway to Independence Fellow at the University of Utah from 2021 to 2025. His research focuses on synthetic chemistry, organometallic catalysis, and synthetic electrochemistry, with an emphasis on the development of new reactions and mechanisms for sustainable synthetic chemistry and energy systems.
