Gerald R. Fink

Gerald R. Fink is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a Core Member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. His research focuses on understanding how fungal pathogens invade the body, evade the immune system, and establish infections. Fink's work employs genetics, biochemistry, and genomics to explore questions related to fungal pathogenesis, including the mechanisms by which Candida albicans becomes a successful pathogen and how fungal pathogens develop antibiotic resistance. His research has significantly advanced the study of yeast genetics and molecular biology.
