Martha Constantine-Paton

Martha Constantine-Paton is a Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Department of Biology. Her research focuses on the contributions of specific brain regions to normal behavior, utilizing a combination of classical and modern genetic tools in mice. She has investigated the Flailer mutant mouse, which carries a brain region-specific dominant negative gene for the actin motor protein MyosinVa, and has designed CRISPR-Cas9 methods to remove this mutation to study its effects. She is no longer accepting students and has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2015.
