Jonathan Weissman

Jonathan Weissman is a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Biology. He is a Professor of Biology and a Core Member of the Whitehead Institute, as well as an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His research focuses on understanding how proteins fold into their correct shape and the implications of misfolding in disease and normal physiology. Weissman develops innovative tools to explore the organizational principles of biological systems, including techniques such as ribosome profiling, CRISPRi/a, and lineage tracing. His work has contributed to significant advancements in the fields of genomics and cell biology.
