Regular biography
Douglas Lauffenburger is a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Biology. His research integrates experimental and mathematical approaches to develop predictive models for understanding cell dysregulation and its implications in diseases such as cancer, inflammatory conditions, and immune-related disorders. His work emphasizes the interplay between bioengineering, quantitative cell biology, and systems biology, with applications spanning various diseases and therapeutic strategies. Lauffenburger's laboratory has trained over 100 doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, many of whom have pursued academic and industry careers.
