Eric S. Lander is a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Biology. He is also a Professor of Biology at Harvard Medical School and the Founding Director Emeritus of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His research focuses on the human genome and its applications to medicine, including the study of genetic variation, gene regulation, and the genetic basis of diseases. His work spans the decoding of the human genetic code, the investigation of rare and common genetic diseases, and the exploration of genome structure and function.
