Rudolf Jaenisch

Rudolf Jaenisch is a Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Department of Biology. He is a Professor of Biology and a Core Member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. His research focuses on the genetic and epigenetic basis of human diseases, including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, autism, and cancer, using pluripotent cells such as embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. Jaenisch studies the reprogramming of somatic cells to an embryonic pluripotent state and employs patient-specific pluripotent cells to investigate complex diseases. His work contributes to understanding epigenetic regulation in mammalian development and disease.
