Regular biography
Conrad Burden is an Associate Professor in the Mathematical Sciences Institute at The Australian National University. His current research interests are in mathematical population genetics. Previous research interests since 2003 include physico-chemical modelling of microarrays, alignment-free sequence comparison, and statistical analysis of biological sequences. Before transitioning to computational biology, he worked on problems in quantum electrodynamics and particle physics. His work spans both theoretical and applied areas, with a focus on understanding the physical and statistical properties of biological and physical systems.
