About
Regular biography

Asilata Bapat is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at The Australian National University. Her research focuses on problems in representation theory and algebraic geometry, with particular interest in the topology and geometry of algebraic varieties arising from representation theory. She has recently explored Bridgeland stability conditions on triangulated categories and associated braid group actions, as well as topics such as perverse sheaves, quiver varieties, and equivariant cohomology. Her work is supported by her affiliation with the Algebra & topology group at ANU.

Scholar-generated biography

Asilata Bapat is a Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University, specializing in representation theory, category theory, algebraic geometry, and topology. Her research explores connections between these areas, particularly through the lens of symmetric tensor categories, stability conditions, and topological invariants. She investigates structures such as spherical objects, 2-Calabi–Yau categories, and the interplay between algebraic and topological methods. Her work also addresses problems in hyperplane arrangements, perverse sheaves, and the representation theory of Artin–Tits groups. Bapat's contributions span both foundational and applied aspects of these fields, with a focus on algebraic and categorical frameworks.
