David Adelani

David Ifeoluwa Adelani is an Assistant Professor at McGill University's Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Speech processing, with an emphasis on multilingual NLP and Speech processing for low-resource languages. He is a Core Academic Member at MILA and a Canada CIFAR AI Chair (2024). Previously, he was a DeepMind Academic Fellow at UCL and earned his PhD in Computer Science at Saarland University. Adelani is currently recruiting 1-2 PhD students for fall 2026, focusing on multilinguality and post-training for large vision-language models in low-resource languages.
