Holger Pirk

Holger Pirk is an Associate Professor ("Senior Lecturer" in traditional English terms) in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London. He is a member of the Large-Scale Data and Systems Group and his research interests include data management, database systems, analytical query processing, and processing models for modern hardware. His work targets both traditional relational databases and new applications such as visualization, games, IoT, and AI, as well as new platforms like compilers, GPUs, and FPGAs. Before joining Imperial College London, he was a Postdoc at the Database group at MIT CSAIL and completed his PhD at the University of Amsterdam in 2015.
