About
Regular biography

Jenny Hoffman is the Clowes Professor of Science in the Department of Physics at Harvard University. Her research focuses on the behavior of electrons in exotic materials, with an emphasis on high-temperature superconductors, topological insulators, and strongly correlated vanadates. Her team has developed low-temperature scanning probe microscopes to study and manipulate electronic behavior at the nanoscale. Techniques such as quasiparticle interference imaging and force microscopy are used to explore phenomena like vortex pinning and electronic phase transitions. Hoffman's work also investigates the potential applications of topological materials in quantum computing and spintronics.
