Peter L. Galison is the Joseph Pellegrino University Professor at Harvard University and Director of the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments. He is affiliated with the Department of Physics and serves as Science Team Leader for the Black Hole Explorer, aiming to capture the sharpest image of a black hole. Galison is also a member of the Event Horizon Telescope team and coordinates the History, Philosophy, and Culture working group for the next generation Event Horizon Telescope. His research interests include the history of science and physics, with a focus on the intersection of technology and scientific practice. He has directed multiple feature films on the history of science and physics, including Black Holes | The Edge of All We Know. Galison has authored several publications, including How Experiments End and Image and Logic: a Material Culture of Microphysics.
