Gary J. Feldman is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science, Emeritus, in the Department of Physics at Harvard University. His research interests lie in the experimental study of neutrino oscillations, with a focus on the NOvA Experiment at Fermilab. This two-detector experiment compares signals observed in a near detector at Fermilab with those in a far detector located 500 miles north in Minnesota. The goal is to measure neutrino oscillation parameters, including the neutrino mass ordering and CP violation, and to search for physics beyond the standard model. Feldman was co-spokesperson for the NOvA experiment for 11 years, during its design, construction, commissioning, and early data-taking phases. He is now retired and no longer takes on students or postdocs.
