Martin Feldstein is a Professor of Economics In Memoriam at Harvard University, affiliated with the Department of Economics. He was a faculty member at the university for 52 years, from 1967 to 2019. His teaching and research focused on taxation, social insurance, fiscal policy, and other aspects of U.S. and foreign economic policy, as well as the economics of national security. He published over 300 research papers, received the Clark medal of the American Economic Association, and served as President of the Association. Feldstein also held the position of Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers for President Ronald Reagan and was president and CEO of the National Bureau of Economic Research from 1977 to 2008. He taught the introductory economics course for 18 years and continued to teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
