Amartya Sen

Amartya Sen is Thomas W. Lamont University Professor and Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University. He has served as President of the Econometric Society, the American Economic Association, the Indian Economic Association, and the International Economic Association. His research spans social choice theory, economic theory, ethics, political philosophy, welfare economics, and development economics. Sen's books have been translated into over thirty languages, including works such as Development as Freedom and The Idea of Justice.
