Regular biography
Robert Barro is a Professor of Economics at Harvard University, affiliated with the Department of Economics. His research focuses on Economic Growth and Macroeconomics. Barro is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His recent work includes studies on rare macroeconomic disasters, corporate tax reform, religion and economy, and the empirical determinants of economic growth. He has authored several books, including Economic Growth (2nd edition, with Xavier Sala-i-Martin) and Religion and Economy (forthcoming with Rachel McCleary). Barro is co-editor of Harvard’s Quarterly Journal of Economics and has held leadership roles in professional economic associations.
